Amateur photographer Margaret Spittles captured this delightful photograph of the sun rising whilst out walking on Dartmoor recently.
She shared a little about her interest in photography and the moor: “Since I was in my teens I have always been interested in images, and nature, and initially I tried to capture these by painting. Being part of the wonderful countryside that surrounds us encouraged me to expand that interest into photography.
‘I have walked on and around Dartmoor for over forty years and moved to Moretonhampstead in 2004, which gave me the opportunity to explore even more of this wonderful area. I bought a fairly simple camera and started to carry it with me when I was walking.
‘There are so many opportunities and such a wealth of wildlife to photograph and over the last sixteen years I have enjoyed trying to capture the moorland birds and animals, and specific moments or moods within this constantly changing landscape.”
