Holy Street Manor sells for £5.5m
One of the most significant property sales on Dartmoor ever was completed in the last few weeks with the sale of Holy Street Manor for £5.5 million.
Set in ancient woodland near Chagford and just down the road from the Gidleigh Park Hotel, the 19 acre Grade II listed Holy Street Manor has a medieval core, extended and rebuilt in 1914 using Dartmoor granite with stone mullion windows. During the 1950’s it was a private school known as St Brides.
Marc Proctor of estate agents Knight Frank said: ”We had multiple buyers interested and believe this is a sign that the prime market is beginning to wake up again in Devon.” Holy Street manor boasts a seven bedroomed main home, a three bedroomed cottage and a two bedroomed staff flat and a private chapel (not consecrated) dedicated to St Boniface. The property has a helicopter hanger, stables, tennis court and a natural swimming pool and fishing rights for the River Teign, providing seasonal salmon and trout.
