Pictures: Snowy scenes across Dartmoor as winter weather hits the Moor

Our readers sent in their photographs of a snow-covered Dartmoor during the recent spell of freezing winter weather

Snow has covered parts of Dartmoor as cold winter weather moved across the area, bringing icy conditions and difficult travel in places.

The wintry scenes were captured across the national park, showing snow-dusted tors, open moorland and rural roads. While some areas saw only a light covering, higher ground was more heavily affected.

Drivers and visitors were advised to take extra care, with icy patches reported on some routes. Local authorities and weather groups have urged people to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary journeys during freezing conditions.

Despite the disruption, the snowfall has transformed Dartmoor into a striking winter landscape, with clear skies and fresh snow creating dramatic views across the moor.
