Pre-season preparations for the Pilgrims
Pre-season preparations are fully underway for Plymouth Argyle under the guidance of new Head Coach Wayne Rooney, and the Greens are enjoying some Spanish sun.
The Pilgrims are currently on a pre-season tour in Marbella, where they will combine an intense training regime with an opportunity for the coaching staff to begin the process of implementing their philosophy on the players.
Argyle start their Sky Bet Championship campaign with a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on August 11 and have a pre-season friendly fixtures scheduled against Orlando Pirates (July 12), Cheltenham Town (July 20), Torquay United (July 27), Bristol Rovers (July 30) and MK Dons (August 3).
Joining the squad in Spain is new signing Ibrahim Cissoko, who has signed on a season-long loan from French club Toulouse.
The exciting Netherlands U21 forward becomes Argyle’s fourth summer signing, after the recent acquisitions of Nathanael Ogbeta, Muhamed Tijani and Darko Gyabi.
Argyle Head Coach Wayne Rooney said: “We are extremely pleased that Ibrahim has agreed to join us for the season. He is a quick, athletic and technical winger, who will add strength to our forward options.
“He is a player that will excite Argyle fans and I know for a fact they will enjoy watching him play.
“Ibrahim has joined the squad here in Spain and will immediately get to work as we look to implement our ideas on how we want the team to play going forward.”
