The RSPB’s annual event, the Big Garden Birdwatch, is once again taking place between 29th and 31st January.
The summer lockdown last year saw many people take more notice of the wildlife in their gardens and parks, and it is hoped that the increase in interest will motivate more people to take part.
It’s easy to join in – register on the RSPB website and receive a free guide plus help with identifying the birds you might see, then spend a tranquil hour counting and recording the birds spotted in your garden, from your window or in the local park. Record your findings on the website.
This Big Garden Birdwatch is set to be bigger and better than before, with the introduction of live events in which experts will share videos, photos and information on which birds they see, and will be available to answer any questions. There’s lots more information, quizzes and guides on the website, including tips on how to photograph some of the birds you might see.
