As the sun set on Sunday evening over 100 people were seated around, and a few brave souls within, Chagford Swimming Pool to watch an outdoor showing of the classic suspense movie Jaws.
The atmosphere was eerie with steam rising from the heated pool and inflatable sharks gracefully moving in the light breeze, all lit by underwater lights. The event was organised by Chagford Film Festival in association with the pool and it was sponsored by several local businesses. A giant screen had been placed at the deep end of the pool and the iconic theme music could be heard from a distance, punctuated by the occasional screams from the audience.
Chagford Pool is open every afternoon until 10th September. Chagford Film Festival will be holding events over the next 12 months in the run up to a full week-long festival in September 2018.
