The main entrance to Barnstaple’s Cattle Market car park has been closed this morning (December 9) after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at around 10.35am to reports of a collision in the car park near Marks & Spencer.

The ambulance service also attended and a road closure has been put in place while emergency crews managed the scene.

One woman has been taken to hospital.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

While the main entrance remains closed, drivers are being asked to use Castle Street to enter and exit the car park.

Police remain at the scene and the entrance is expected to reopen once recovery and enquiries are complete.
