TWIG – Tavistock Writers Independent Group – is hosting an Open Evening on Thursday 23rd October, from 6pm to 7:30pm at Tavistock Library. Now in its fifth year, this lively collective of local writers meets regularly to share work, swap ideas, and stir the imagination through thoughtful prompts and exercises.
Member Steve Newland describes TWIG as “a happy band” of creative minds who gather not only to write but to connect. “Writing can feel lonely at the best of times,” he says, “and meeting others is not just fun and sociable—it’s a shared experience.”
This year marks a major milestone: the release of the group’s first anthology, In-Between Dartmoor, a rich showcase of fiction and poetry. The book is available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats.
Whether you're a seasoned scribe, a curious beginner, or simply looking to soak up inspiration, the group offers a warm welcome to new faces and meets fortnightly on Saturdays in Tavistock Library from 2pm - 4pm.
