The Lustleigh show really got underway at 11.49am on Bank Holiday Monday with a fly past by the RAF’s Red Arrows Display team on their way to the Scilly Isles.
You had to be quick as they shot down the valley over the show ground, but it was quite a coup for a village show. Soon after the runners in the 10 Kilometre race started on a scorching hot day.
147 entrants dashed over the finishing line with Richard Edwards the winner of the men’s race and Emma Lake the winner of the women’s race.
With ferret racing, live music, a dog show, falconry display and the always amusing terrier racing, the 4,500 who attended all had a great, if hot day out.
The show raises around £8,000 for local charities.
