Helpful Holidays collaborate with local school to create 2023 calendar

This year, Dartmoor based holiday letting agency Helpful Holidays has collaborated with Chagford Church of England Primary School, to create a sensational 2023 calendar to give to their holiday home owners, contacts and suppliers.

Students across the school were invited to submit designs for each of the 12 months, to form a splendid calendar. In exchange for taking on the challenge, the school has been given £250-worth of National Book Tokens to expand its library, whilst the children with the 12 winning designs also received prizes, as well as getting to see their artwork in print!

There was an abundance of entries submitted from children of all ages, depicting an array of scenery, from snowy tors to Dartmoor ponies grazing in the summer sunshine! Local artist Steve Dooley had the hard task of choosing the 12 winning entries.

Said Steve: “I have loved judging the Helpful Holidays calendar competition entries. The children from Chagford and the surrounding area are so talented and they really have put an incredible amount of time and effort into their creations. They should all be very proud of themselves. It was really such a challenge to choose just 12 winning designs!”

The competition follows the hugely popular Christmas card designing challenge that Helpful Holidays invited local children to take part in last year.

James Webb, Operations Manager at Helpful Holidays, says: “We have loved running a fun community competition once again this year, especially collaborating with the school here in Chagford, just down the road from our office. The children have so much talent and vision – the artwork has been a joy to see, and we are thrilled that it has created such a delightful calendar to be enjoyed throughout the whole year! A special thanks must go to Steve for judging and to the children, teachers and parents that helped make this beautiful calendar happen.”
