A new British crime thriller, All the Devils Are Here, has filmed scenes on Dartmoor, using the moor’s remote terrain to lend atmosphere and tension to the story.

According to IMDb, one of its locations was Ditsworthy Warren House, with others including Sheepstor and Yelverton, deep within the Dartmoor National Park.

The film, starring Eddie Marsan, Sam Claflin, Burn Gorman, and Suki Waterhouse, centres on four thieves who, after a heist, hole up in an isolated cottage on the moor.

As days pass, tensions rise, loyalties falter, and paranoia sets in.

The story leans heavily into themes of isolation and mistrust, with Dartmoor’s wild landscape playing a visible role in shaping the mood of the film.

The film’s use of authentic Dartmoor locations adds a distinctive sense of realism and atmosphere.

As noted in a recent report by fellow Clear-Sky title, Torbay Weekly, the landscape almost becomes a character in its own right, its “bleak beauty” and shifting skies mirroring the tension between the stranded thieves.

Ditsworthy Warren House itself is a Grade II-listed isolated farmhouse on Dartmoor’s south-western edge.

It was also used as a filming location for War Horse in 2010, when Steven Spielberg’s production team adapted the house and surrounding area for the Oscar-nominated movie.

Locally, it remains a known landmark for walkers, letterboxers, and riders, though there is no direct vehicular access, and the surrounding land is not open to the public.

For Dartmoor residents and visitors, the film may draw renewed attention to some of the moor’s lesser-seen locations.

Dartmoor’s shifting light, vast spaces, and rugged terrain have long made it a favourite for filmmakers looking to evoke psychological tension and visual drama, and All the Devils Are Here adds another title to that growing list.
