The event brought together the UK’s leading law firms to recognise innovation, high standards of client care, and outstanding performance.
Judges praised Wolferstans for its “remarkable alignment of ambition, strategy and execution,” describing the firm as “a shining example of strategic clarity turned into lasting success.”
They highlighted strong communication skills, clear planning and continued commitment to improvement, noting that these qualities reflect a culture built on trust, collaboration and support.
Managing Partner Alisa Willows said the national recognition was a proud moment for the firm and the city.
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive this recognition,” she said. “To be named among the best in the country, and to represent our region on this stage, is a huge honour.
“Our goal has always been to provide proactive client care, and this award reflects the hard work and dedication of our team.”
David Price, Head of Talent and Client Experience, added:
“I’m very proud of everyone at Wolferstans for winning Law Firm of the Year at this year’s LawNet Awards. Everyone works hard day in and day out to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients. This recognition couldn’t be more deserved.”
Wolferstans, which has offices in Plymouth and serves clients across Devon, Cornwall and beyond, said it remains committed to combining legal expertise with community values.
The firm also congratulated other nominees and thanked the LawNet judging panel for their feedback.
Founded in 1812, Wolferstans has been a cornerstone of the local legal community for more than two centuries.
It is currently the top-rated local law firm on Review Solicitors, rated 4.9/5 from over 2000 reviews and has pledged to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, already reducing emissions by 47% between 2021 and 2024.
The firm said it hopes this award will inspire continued growth and further strengthen its mission to deliver “exceptional legal support with integrity, empathy and a client-centred approach.”
