Tavistock is gearing up for one of its most festive community traditions this week as the Tavistock AFC Christmas Tractor Run returns this Friday, 12 December.
Now a much-loved annual spectacle, dozens of brightly lit tractors will roll out from Langsford Park at 7pm, touring the town in a glittering celebration of local spirit.

According to organisers, tractors will begin arriving from 5pm for registration outside the Red and Black Club, before setting off at 7pm.
Last year’s run drew crowds across Tavistock, and organisers hope this year will be “better than ever”.
One event notice reads: “It’s getting closer now so just a quick reminder of events… The tractors will return to the club at approximately 8.15pm.”
While the tractors complete their illuminated circuit through town, the Tavistock Youth Choir will be performing inside the Red and Black Club.

Once the vehicles return, a short presentation will take place, followed by more festive music and warm refreshments.
Burgers, hot dogs, bacon baps, tea, coffee and drinks will be available throughout the evening, making the clubhouse a welcoming spot to gather after enjoying the spectacle around town.
Organisers ask spectators to be mindful of safety:
“Please take extra care around the tractors, especially the children.”
The tractors will depart Langsford Park at 7pm, travelling through key points across Tavistock, including:
Organisers emphasise that all times are approximate.
Members of the public hoping to watch the tractors leave Langsford Park are asked to park at Tavistock School to help ease congestion around the football club.
With colourful lights, community cheer and a lively post-run gathering at the Red and Black Club, this Friday’s event promises to be one of the most festive evenings of the season.
The event follows on from last week's Dickensian Evening, which proved a busy and merry evening for Tavistock.
