Bovey Tracey set to host 22nd annual Craft Festival this June with hundreds of makers

One of Devon’s biggest creative events is returning to Mill Marsh Park in Bovey Tracey, bringing together nationally recognised makers, local artists and thousands of visitors for a three-day celebration of craft
One of the South West’s best-known craft events will return to Devon for its 22nd annual event in June, bringing hundreds of makers, workshops and performances to Bovey Tracey.
The 22nd annual Craft Festival Bovey Tracey 2026 will take place at Mill Marsh Park from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14.
Organisers say around 200 designer-makers have been selected for this year’s festival, with exhibitors ranging from established national names to emerging makers from Devon and the wider South West.
Visitors will be able to see and buy ceramics, jewellery, textiles, furniture, printmaking, glass and metalwork, alongside demonstrations, talks and live entertainment.
The festival, founded in 2004 by Sarah James, has attracted more than 160,000 visitors to Bovey Tracey over the past two decades and supported more than 4,000 independent craft businesses.

A programme of bookable workshops is already open and includes woodcarving, broom making, stitching, natural dyeing, marbling, woodworking and stone carving.
Heritage Crafts have organised a talks programme that will focus on the power of making and includes appearances by speakers such as Dr James Fox, author of the book Craftland.
Festival director Sarah James said she remained “enthused and determined” after more than two decades running the event.
She said: “I’ve been running Craft Festival for 22 years and I never tire of it. The opportunity to bring so many inspiring people together is such a privilege.
“One of my favourite places is The Craft Club, where we host free craft activities for children and families. The energy jumps out at you and shows that children love and need making.”

Jeweller Gilly Langton, who travels from Plockton in Scotland to attend the festival, said the event stood out because it celebrated “craft and all its disciplines with such joy”.
She added: “From makers and workshops to demonstrations, there is so much to see and do.”
The festival will also include storytelling, street theatre, wellbeing sessions, traditional children’s entertainment, live music and local street food traders.
Children’s craft activities will again be free, while accompanied under-18s and carers can attend free of charge.
Craft Festival Bovey Tracey runs from 10am to 5pm daily. Advance tickets start from £10.
