Sherford residents urged to nominate worthy local cause for community prize

A new community competition has launched in Sherford, giving residents the chance to put forward a local cause they believe needs a helping hand
Residents in Sherford are being invited to nominate a local good cause for the chance to receive £500.
Taylor Wimpey Exeter has launched a Community Chest competition, with nominations open to community groups, organisations and individuals in and around the Sherford area.
The prize could be used towards new equipment, a fundraising challenge or another need identified by the person making the nomination.
Local residents can submit their suggestions by emailing the name of the nominee along with a brief description of why they have been nominated, to [email protected].
Nominations must be submitted by this Sunday (6 September) with only one email per person counted.
Taylor Wimpey Exeter will then select a winner, who will be awarded the £500 prize.
Emma Smith, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “Community groups and local charities rely heavily on the support they receive, so we are delighted to be able to do our bit for the residents in Sherford through our Community Chest campaign.
“If you know of a worthy cause in your area, we would love to hear about them.”
The competition is being run by Taylor Wimpey, which is currently building new homes at Sherford on Lunar Crescent.
