The Lambs are offering free U16 season tickets for the upcoming Western League campaign as part of a wider push to reconnect Tavistock AFC with supporters and local families

West Devon football club Tavistock AFC has today announced that all local under-16s will be able to attend home league matches for free next season as the club continues efforts to rebuild its community ties.

The Lambs confirmed on social media this afternoon that free season tickets for the 2026/27 Western League campaign will be available to under-16 supporters through a QR code on the Fanbase app.

The offer will also include free entry to Tavistock’s upcoming pre-season friendly against local professional side and League One outfit, Plymouth Argyle.

Club chairman Glenn told The Moorlander that the move forms part of a wider push to reconnect the football club with the town after a difficult campaign on and off the pitch.

He said: “Tavistock is a fantastic community, and the beating heart of any wonderful community is its football club.

“Here at Tavistock AFC, we realise that the community needs to be the main focus. Therefore, we are now offering free season tickets for the 26/27 season to all 16 and under.

“Bring your voices, cheer and good spirit back to your local terraces.”

The announcement follows several community-focused initiatives launched by the club during the second half of last season.

In January, Tavistock AFC announced major leadership and structural changes after acknowledging failures in communication with supporters and volunteers.

At the time, the club said it wanted to place the community “at the heart” of its future and invited supporters to attend a home fixture against Mousehole AFC free of charge.

In April, the club also hosted a “pay what you like” Community Day at Langsford Park alongside the final home game of the season against Hartpury FC.

The event included stalls, food, entertainment, family activities and reduced-price entry as the club sought to encourage more local people through the gates.

An attendance of 160 watched that match, Tavistock’s largest home crowd of the calendar year.

The latest announcement also comes after a difficult 2025/26 season which saw Tavistock relegated from Southern League Division One South after finishing bottom of the table.

Long-serving manager Stuart Henderson departed midway through the campaign, with former Exeter City midfielder Steve Tully later appointed as part of what the club described as a longer-term rebuild.

Tavistock AFC will now compete in the Western League during the 2026/27 season as the club looks to reset both on and off the pitch.
