Sampford Courtenay Village Hall has revealed a new scale model which has been designed and completed by local artists and is part of the Village Hall Roof ‘Buy a Tile Appeal’.
The Village Hall Appeal has been fundraising during the past few months to repair, maintain and update the vital community resource.
The Halloween Soup and Apple Pie ‘takeaway supper’ was part of the village Pumpkin Trail and the evening, which was managed under the current COVID-19 restrictions by a group of dedicated volunteers, was extremely well supported by parishioners and raised over £350.
The Village Hall Appeal has now passed its first target of £1,000 and along with generous donations, individual fundraising and the
‘Roof-Us’ Buy a Tile scheme, is fast approaching its £2,000 target.
The appeal still has £148,000 more to raise.
The £150,000 final target needs to be urgently reached so that work can start to undertake the repair and replacement works that will enable Sampford Courtenay to save this important community hub for current and future residents
‘Roof-Us’, the village hall mascot, will be going out with the model to local events and locations, when restrictions permit, to promote the ‘Buy a Tile Appeal’.
The Fundraising group are also contacting local and national business organisations and groups, and charitable trusts with appeals for support.
The next Sampford Courtenay event will be The Christmas Bazaar and Santa’s Wonderland, which is planned to take place in the Village Hall and Church on Saturday, 12th December.
Further details on this event can be found on the Sampford Courtenay Website where there is also information on ‘Buy a Tile’ and the ‘Amazon Smile Scheme’ where customers can nominate the roof appeal to receive donations from purchases made.
Join Ruby the dog and ‘Roof-us’ in supporting this important resource for Sampford Courtenay and the wider community.
