Torbay Council says its major investment funding remains secure ahead of the Autumn Budget, but warns national changes could still impact residents.
Torbay Council has said major regeneration projects in the Bay remain on track despite uncertainty ahead of the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget later this month.
Cllr Alan Tyerman, the council’s cabinet member for housing and finance, said funding already allocated through government schemes such as the Levelling Up Fund, the Future High Streets Fund and the Town Deal is secure.

He said the council was progressing with its priority capital projects as planned.
Cllr Tyerman added that while the full details of the Autumn Budget, due on 26 November, were not yet known, the council expected it could affect residents through taxation changes or reductions in government funding.
“We will assess the impact of whatever is announced in the Budget to review if this should change the support provided to our most vulnerable residents,” he said.
Torbay Council’s own budget for the next financial year will be consulted on later this year before being considered for approval in February 2026.
