Exeter’s festive season gets underway this week with the opening of Winter Wonderland in Northernhay Gardens on Friday 21 November.
The seasonal event, running until Sunday 28 December, includes an ice rink, fairground rides, and Christmas-themed attractions.
The city’s Christmas market at Exeter Cathedral also opens this Thursday, featuring wooden chalets selling crafts, gifts, and local produce.

Visitors can walk through paths lined with lights and browse a variety of seasonal stalls.
Late-night shopping begins on Thursday 20 November in Princesshay, where the Worldbeaters SPARK! drummers will perform at 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm.
Exeter’s pantomime season includes The Wizard of Oz at the Corn Exchange from 13 December to 1 January, Jack and the Beanstalk at Exeter Northcott, and Cinderella at Barnfield Theatre.
The city centre will also be illuminated for the festive season, and Guildhall Shopping Centre is hosting Christmas story times and visits from Santa and Mrs Claus.
Other seasonal events include late-night shopping at the Shop at RAMM on 4 and 11 December, Night at the Museum – Winter Wonders on 11 December, and the Exeter Comedy Club Christmas Specials at the Corn Exchange on 5, 12, and 19 December.
