Torquay’s Mistletoe Ball raises almost £10,000 for local charities

Torquay’s glittering Mistletoe Ball has raised almost £10,000 for charity.

Torquay Boys’ Grammar School’s Centenary Hall was transformed into a dazzling winter ballroom for the sold-out ball, a night of festive glamour, music, and generosity that has quickly become one of  the main highlights of Torbay’s social calendar.

The dance floor was alive all night thanks to incredible entertainment from DJ Fish and the sensational band Mafia 4.

Headteacher James Hunt said: “We started the ball in 2024 to raise vital funds for the school and a local charity. I’m so grateful to my wife for pulling it all together with style.”

Event organiser Stacey Hunt said: “The Mistletoe Ball has become the must-do event of the season in Torbay. We’re so thankful for the support of local businesses, including Michelle Lyons Interiors, Otto, and Bays, who helped make this night so special.”

The money raised will be shared between the TBGS Charitable Trust and the Special Care Baby Unit at Torbay Hospital. It is hoped these funds will help SCBU expand its Books for Babies project, ensuring that every child born at Torbay Hospital over the next year goes home with a reading book.
