One of North Devon’s largest holiday parks has changed hands for the second time in almost four years.

Golden Coast Holiday Park at Woolacombe has been acquired by Vale Holiday Parks, a Welsh family-run company that has a dozen parks across Wales and the South West.

The Woolacombe park was bought by Verdant Leisure in January 2022 and has now been sold on to Vale.

Located in Station Road just above Woolacombe, it is a popular destination for families with a range of accommodation choices and its large entertainment complex and multiple activities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a wave surfer, high ropes course and sports.

Announcing the purchase on Christmas Eve, Vale Holiday Parks said: “This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for the park. Vale Holiday Parks, a family-run business established over 40 years ago, has built a strong reputation for creating welcoming, well-maintained parks with a personal touch.

“Vale prides itself on offering memorable experiences for all their guests, and continuous investment in its locations.”

Thomas Scarrott, director at Vale Holiday Parks, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Golden Coast Holiday Park into the Vale family. This park has been a much-loved destination for generations, and we’re honoured to carry that legacy forward.

“Golden Coast is a perfect fit for us – vibrant, family-focused and full of potential. We’re committed to investing in the park and taking it to the next level, enhancing facilities and creating even more unforgettable experiences for holidaymakers.

“We can’t wait to get started and offer a warm welcome to guests old and new in 2026.”
