Exeter Northcott Theatre will welcome audiences back this spring with the play Forever Young, running from 7–15 March 2026.

The production brings together a number of actors familiar to Exeter audiences from recent Northcott shows, including pantomimes and dramas, offering a mix of humour, music, and reflection on later life.

Written by Eric Gedeon and adapted for Exeter by Giles Croft, the play is set in a retirement home for older actors who refuse to fade quietly from the stage.

The production incorporates well-known pop and rock songs, from I Will Survive to Imagine, performed live alongside the story.

The Northcott is offering relaxed, audio-described, BSL-interpreted, and captioned performances throughout the run.

Martin Berry, Creative Director at the Northcott, is directing the show. He said: “One of the great joys of this production is that it brings back so many actors who audiences will recognise from recent Northcott seasons.”

He also added that “it’s a real pleasure to welcome them back to the stage.”

The cast includes Jodie Micciché, Molly Cheesley, Andrew Armfield, Madison Grace, Pete Watts, and newcomer Eliza Shea. Archie Combe will provide live piano music for the performances.

Molly Cheesley, who previously starred in Northcott pantomimes including Jack and the Beanstalk, said:“I’m looking forward to performing the songs with this cast.”

Jodie Micciché added:“The show explores the characters’ later lives, and it will be interesting to see how they develop on stage.”

Andrew Armfield, known locally for The Jolly Christmas Postman, said: “It’s an opportunity to explore different versions of our characters in a new context.”

Forever Young follows Northcott's recent productions, including the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk and the drama Exe Men, both of which drew strong local audiences and critical attention.

The theatre has increasingly focused on combining drama, music, and local talent, giving Exeter residents opportunities to see professional performances close to home.

The production features accessible performances, offering relaxed, audio-described, BSL-interpreted, and captioned options.

Devon and Cornwall residents can claim 20 per cent off up to two tickets for the opening performance on Saturday 7 March 2026 at 1:30pm.
