Dartmouth Road in Paignton, next to Quaywest Water Park, has been closed due to flooding.
The closure is causing disruption in the area, with diversions in place while crews work to clear water from the road.
Police have warned that disruption could continue until this evening, depending on conditions and the progress of the clean-up operation. There is currently no confirmed timescale for the road’s full reopening.
Motorists are being advised to plan journeys in advance, allow extra time for travel and follow the latest traffic information services for updates.
Online images from the scene show some drivers ignoring the cordon in place, with flooding also affecting the surrounding car park and nearby woodland.
