Torquay United boss Paul Wotton named as manager of the month

Torquay United supremo Paul Wotton has been named as the National League South manager of the month after a superb January for the Gulls.

After starting the year with the frustration of a late postponement at Dover Athletic, the Gulls got their new year running with an excellent 4-1 defeat of Hampton & Richmond, thanks to goals from Callum Dolan, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, Jordan Young and Dylan Morgan.

United followed that with a tempestuous 1-1 draw with Maidstone and then a battling late victory at Enfield Town, Kieran Wilson notching a winning penalty in the final minute.

That set the tone for a top-of-the-table clash at Hornchurch, where United recovered from a goal down to seal three massive points with a Jordan Young double.

Congratulations to Paul Wotton and also United winger Dylan Morgan, who was shortlisted for the player of the month prize.
