The Really Useful Network (The RUN) will launch its South Devon College partnership on 9 March 2026, bringing together employers, educators, and professionals for an interactive session focused on strengthening skills, opportunity, and collaboration across Torbay and the wider South Devon region.
Hosted at South Devon College and co-hosted by Tomlinson Solutions, the event is designed not simply as a networking opportunity, but as a collaborative forum where businesses and educators can openly discuss the real challenges and opportunities facing local employers, and explore practical solutions together.
Through structured discussion and shared insight, businesses will have the opportunity to contribute directly to conversations around workforce needs, skills development, and how education and industry can work more closely together to support long-term economic growth.
Founded in Devon, The Really Useful Network has rapidly grown into a thriving community of business owners, professionals, charities, and leaders, united by a simple philosophy: People First. Always. Its events are designed to foster genuine relationships and create environments where collaboration happens naturally.
Co-Founder of The Really Useful Network, Jo Mottershead, said: “This event is about listening as much as connecting. We want to create a space where businesses can share what they genuinely need, and where educators and employers can work together to explore solutions. South Devon College plays a vital role in preparing the future workforce, and by bringing people together in this way, we can help ensure those pathways are shaped by real insight, real collaboration, and real opportunity.”
South Devon College plays a central role in preparing students for their future careers and is committed to working closely with employers to ensure training reflects the evolving needs of industry.
Ben Pountney, Head of Business Development, Talent & Skills at South Devon College, said: “We’re pleased to welcome The Really Useful Network and businesses from across the region. The RUN’s commitment to putting people first strongly aligns with our own values and mission to inspire our community through learning. Creating space for genuine connection and collaboration reflects what we stand for, and we’re proud to host an event that brings our business community together in such a positive and purposeful way.”
Tomlinson Solutions, co-hosting the event, shares The RUN’s commitment to supporting local businesses and strengthening meaningful connections.

The event is proudly supported by Kitson Boyce, who are celebrating their 200-year anniversary and continuing their longstanding commitment to supporting local communities and businesses.
