Elaine had already been named south of England instructor of the year but said she hadn’t expected to win the national title too. She added: “I’m so grateful for my amazing class members who make every session special.”
Her classes have become known for their uplifting atmosphere and strong community spirit.
Her awards citation said those taking part frequently report improved confidence, energy and wellbeing, while many enjoy regular social events organised outside of class, including coffee mornings, seasonal celebrations and regional gatherings.
Elaine has an extensive background as a ballroom and Latin American competitor, having trained since the age of eight, which ensures her sessions are both enjoyable and expertly delivered.
She said: “My focus for 2026 is to help even more people feel happier, stronger and more connected through dance.
“It’s not about perfection - it’s about joyful movement.”
