A week of overnight closures on the A361 North Devon Link Road that would have signalled the end of roadworks have been postponed due to impending bad weather.
Contractor Alun Griffiths had previously said all works would be completed in April and all traffic management removed, but a forecasted week of wet weather next week has scuppered the plans as workers won’t be able to paint the road markings.
Originally there was to be a series of overnight closures on parts of the A361 from Monday (April 13), starting with Portmore to Landkey roundabouts, continuing through the week to include Borners, Bish Mill and Aller roundabouts.

In a statement, Griffiths said: “The weather forecast for 13/04/26 to 17/04/26 is inappropriate to lay road markings, as a result the following road closures have been postponed until further notice.”
It said further updates would be issued as soon as new dates were confirmed.
Some traffic management measures are still going ahead as planned. Throughout this week Borners Roundabout has been reduced to a single lane and there will be four-way temporary traffic lights at South Lee Cross during the week commencing April 20 from 8pm to 5am.
Griffiths said there would also be temporary traffic lights at various locations along the A361 throughout April, but all traffic management will be removed during the daytime in these areas.
Unless otherwise stated, all overnight traffic management and restrictions will be from 8pm to 6am.
