The Contemporary Craft Festival took place last weekend in Bovey Tracey bring together hundreds of crafts people from all over the country.

The craft festival, now celebrating fifteen years of making, is the West Counties biggest craft festival attracting thousands of visitors to the town and is a major boost to the local economy.

The festival was blessed with beautiful sunny weather, has recently won a number of awards including the Festival of the Year and the overall Winner of Winners at the prestigious South West Tourism Awards.

Visitors were treated to over 200 exhibitors displaying their work and designs in four marquees as well as food outlets and a seating area where music was played over the three days of the festival.

There were also a number of new attractions like the Risk Makers that brought together leading makers and challenge them to collaborate and take risks with their work. The makers also provided material, tools and guidance for visitors.

One new area of the festival was The Den which was strictly for teenagers run by South Devon Community College where teens could drop in at digital workshops, screen printing and jewellery making. Saturday evening the Craft Festival put an extra element by putting on a concert by the internationally renowned Brodsky Quartet at
St Peter, St Paul and St Thomas Parish Church.
