GWR launches Black Friday sale with train tickets up to half price
GWR is giving customers the chance to enjoy cheaper train journeys between Friday, November 6, and Thursday, December 17, 2026, with savings of up to 50 percent on selected Standard and First Class tickets.
Train passengers in Devon could be in luck as Great Western Railway (GWR) launches its Black Friday sale, with selected train tickets available at up to half price.
GWR is giving customers the chance to enjoy cheaper train journeys between Friday, November 6, and Thursday, December 17, 2026, as they announce a Black Friday Sale starting today (Friday, October 30).
There will be 60,000 discounted train tickets available, with savings of up to 50 percent on selected Standard and First Class tickets.
Passengers travelling from Exeter St Davids to London could pay as little as £32 for a selected Standard Advance single ticket.
GWR Head of Marketing, Helen da Costa, said: “Black Friday is a great opportunity to grab a bargain and give yourself something exciting to look forward to before Christmas.”
“Whether you’re planning a festive day out, visiting friends and family or simply fancy a change of scenery, our sale offers savings of up to 50% on selected Standard and First-Class Advance tickets.”
“With 60,000 discounted tickets available, there are plenty of opportunities to make plans without spending a fortune.”
“But be quick – the sale ends on Monday 2 November.”
Tickets are limited and are only available on selected routes and services.
Customers are encouraged to book their tickets early, which can be done so on the GWR website or app.
