Next in the Fell Series

The next round of the SW Fell Runners Summer Series is heading to the Moors for a Postbridge Pootle on Wednesday, 26th July, with the juniors starting at 6pm and the seniors at 7pm.

The junior races include a 2km route for the U12s and the U18s will take on a 4.5km route, while the seniors can look forward to 10.5km of proper Dartmoor running, where the elements so often dictate the nature of the race.

It is almost guaranteed that Okehampton Running Club will have a healthy presence at the Postbridge Pootle and there have been so top performances from members in recent weeks.

Competing in the Tavistock Relays, ORC were alongside around 700 runners and among the great results was a ninth placed finish for the senior ladies team of Sophie Luxton, Claire Grubb, Claire Watkins and Jennifer Law.

They were followed in tenth by the Vet Club Women 35 quartet of Pip Knapton, Jo Dymond, Amanda French and Lisa Cann.

In the men’s race, Okehampton celebrated a solid sixth with the team of Chris Turner, Euan Ripper, Richard Davies and Sam Priday. The ORC V45 Males team of Rob Kelly, Rob Hicks, Joe Lane and Tom Poland were 14th.

Check out the ORC Facebook page for news and events from the club.
