Moorlander running clubs take on South Devon Velopark

Nearly 250 runners tore around the Torbay Velopark as the South Devon Athletic Club’s 3k relays provided plenty of high-speed thrills.

The fast four of Jamie Frost, Charlie Millward, Peter Allen and Luke Hayes from Erme Valley Harriers stamped their mark on the event from the very start, with Frost completing his leg of the relay in an individual record time.

By the time Hayes completed the last leg, the Harriers team was 30 seconds in front of the second-placed Teignbridge Trotters team of Luke Reynolds, Tim Pratt, Kevin Woodard and Hamish Rae.

Third was the Torbay Tri team of Jason Hurford, Steven Waters, Ryan Holdford and Ben Flower.

The event incorporated the South West Championships, meaning that Erme Valley went back down the A38 with that title to add to their victory on the night.

Fastest women were the Teignbridge Trotters team of Chloe Olford, Liz Nuttall, Suzanna Goffe and Molly Canham.

Fastest juniors were the mixed team from Hayley’s Hurricanes, while South Devon AC’s male and female junior teams were crowned South West champions.

Torbay Tri had the fastest Male Vet 40 team, while Teignbridge Trotters were the fastest Male Vet 50s and Male Vet 60s.

South-West Road Runners’ Flying Forties-ish team were the fastest female Vet 40s, with Teignbridge Trotters the top Female Vet 50s and Torbay Tri the top Female Vet 60s.
