Okehampton GC captains
Changing of the guard as we head toward 2024
It is hardly the weather for good golf, but nobody told the brave souls at Okehampton GC.
Before tackling the wintry conditions, however, the club joined together to welcome new captain Richard Johnson, who is taking over the reins from Garey Carey, and the new era started with a fabulous Captain’s Inauguration Dinner.
The next day, it was all about the traditional Captain’s Drive-In and the Captain’s Shotgun Comp. Richard Johnson and Seniors Captain Howard Hoddell opened the proceedings in drizzly conditions.
The team of Steve Lawrence, Toby Gosling and David Rowe were winners of the golf competition, as a new season for Okehampton golfers gets underway.
A week before the men, Okehampton Ladies welcomed their new captain, Sue Williams, who succeeds Di Johnson in the top job. Congratulations to Di on a fabulous year & best wishes to Sue for the year ahead.
