Devon's favourite race

The Torrington Christmas Caper was another marvellous muddy success, as the ‘Devon Race of the Year’ lived up to all expectations.

The Christmas Caper is ten miles of mud, forest trails, rivers and hills. It is an extremely tough but rewarding multi-terrain race that brings together runners from all over the region, and beyond.

The 2023 version was fantastic fun, with plenty of Santa outfits, Christmas cheer, mince pies and puddings.

Mark Jenkin from Bideford AAC took first place in fabulous time of 1:02:39, almost six minutes ahead of his nearest challenger, Richard Ezra-Ham from Tamar Trotters. Stan Charles-Jones from the South Molton Strugglers took third.

Fourth overall and the first female finisher was Rebecca Ezra-Ham (Tamar Trotters) in 1:09:58. Jo Meek from Winchester was second and Samantha Baker (South Molton Strugglers) finished third. Congratulations to organisers and runners for another cracking Christmas Caper.
