Dartmoor National Park
The Dartmoor Local Access Forum is witnessing a surge in community engagement as they open their doors to new members. Since the announcement before Christmas, the response to the recruitment drive has been promising, with a considerable number of applications pouring in. The Forum, committed to making Dartmoor more accessible and enjoyable for all, welcomes the interest and encourages more individuals to participate.
Established under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, the Dartmoor Local Access Forum holds an essential role in advising the Authority and other organisations at a strategic level. Their focus extends across environmental, social, and economic interests, addressing key issues such as improving rights of way, managing access land, enhancing visitor experiences, and contributing to National Park Management Plans and Recreation Strategies.
The Dartmoor Local Access Forum has experienced a wave of interest from individuals eager to contribute to the strategic advisory body. While the response has been positive, the Dartmoor Local Access Forum encourages even more individuals to consider joining. The diverse perspectives and expertise of new members play a crucial role in addressing environmental, social, and economic interests to enhance Dartmoor’s accessibility and enjoyment.
The application form is available on the Dartmoor National Park website, making it accessible to anyone interested. With the closing date approaching on January 12, interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications promptly.
