Head Coach at Plymouth Argyle

A new era at Plymouth Argyle began with victory for Head Coach Ian Foster in the Emirates FA Cup.

Foster was appointed boss at Home Park less than 24 hours before the visit of League Two strugglers Sutton United and watched his new side breeze into the lead through Luke Cundle.

Sutton briefly threatened to upset the plan with a leveller from Lee Angol but Argyle reasserted control via a Ryan Hardie penalty, and sealed the win when in-form Morgan Whittaker notched in stoppage time.

The real work begins this week for Foster, who is a former England youth coach and has most recently been working in Saudi Arabia. Argyle travel to Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday.

Torquay United, meanwhile, continue to stutter through the New Year, as they conceded a late equaliser to struggling Eastbourne Borough for a 2-2 draw in the National League South.
