Authorities are delving into the circumstances surrounding a serious collision that occurred on Walkhampton Road, Horrabridge, over the weekend.
The incident, involving a motorbike and a pedestrian, took place around 1.20am on Sunday, January 28, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
The pedestrian, a local man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to hospital for treatment.
In the aftermath of the collision, the road was closed to facilitate a thorough investigation at the scene.
The closure was lifted around 2.50pm, allowing the resumption of normal traffic flow.
Officers from the Roads Policing Team have expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the road closure.
A 30-year-old man from Tavistock was arrested in connection with the incident. The arrest includes suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified drug above the specified limit, suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, and suspicion of occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent.
The arrested individual has been released on police bail, with a scheduled return on Tuesday, April 23, pending further inquiries.
