The Devon County Agricultural Association has appointed Michael Caines MBE as the President of the upcoming 2024 Devon County Show.
With his impressive culinary skills and deep love for local produce, Michael Caines is set to bring a fresh perspective to this beloved event.
Known for his delicious dishes and innovative cooking techniques, Michael has won numerous awards and captured the hearts of foodies everywhere.
However, beyond his role as a chef, Michael has demonstrated a deep commitment to his community by actively supporting charities and advocating for sustainable farming practices.
Speaking on his new role, Michael said: "Food and farming are at the very heart of the Devon County Show.”
"As President, I am committed to celebrating our region's rich culinary heritage and promoting sustainable farming practices,” he remarked.
He plans to highlight the interconnectedness of food producers, chefs, and local communities throughout the Devon County Show, and provide a platform for talented chefs and suppliers to demonstrate their craft.
Additionally, he aims to raise awareness about the challenges facing farmers and explore ways to support the industry's future sustainability.
The 2024 Devon County Show is scheduled to take place at Westpoint Exeter from Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18.
