The body of a missing man has been discovered on Dartmoor.

Devon & Cornwall Police had called for assistance from the Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team at 15.48pm on April 2, citing concerns for a high-risk individual.

Despite adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and thick mist, the rescue team swiftly mobilised their resources, including search dogs and Hill Party teams, to search the area.

Within a short time frame of just 50 minutes, the team located the missing man, but confirmed he was dead.

The rescue operation transitioned to recovery mode, with the team working diligently to retrieve the man's body from the moor.

The operation concluded at 21.40pm.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue team extended heartfelt condolences, stating: “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
