Police in Okehampton have launched an investigation into an attempted theft at a Waitrose and are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying four individuals believed to be connected with the incident.
The attempted theft occurred at the Waitrose store in Okehampton on Saturday, February 10, between 5.45pm and 6pm.
According to reports, a group of individuals attempted to leave the store with a trolley containing goods valued at approximately £900 without making any payment.
In their efforts to progress the investigation, the police have released pictures of the four individuals captured during the incident.
Although the quality of the images is low, authorities are hopeful that members of the public may still be able to provide valuable information.
Police have said they would like to identify all four individuals pictured as they believe they may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
Those with relevant information are urged to contact the police by calling 101 or by visiting the police website, quoting reference number 50240033652.
Additionally, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.
