West Devon Borough Council is offering a Household Support Fund, aimed at providing assistance to eligible residents facing financial challenges.
The fund aims to alleviate day-to-day living expenses such as food, energy costs, and essential household items.
A total of £108,735 in new funds has been allocated to support those most in need. Recognising the urgency of the situation and the limited resources available, the council will prioritise residents with the lowest incomes.
The scheme offers one-time financial payments or other forms of support over a six-month period.
This support may include purchasing groceries, covering bills, or assisting with the purchase of essential household goods.
Acknowledging the diverse range of challenges residents may encounter, the council is open to considering applications for other essential types of support that align with the objectives of the scheme.
Such requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Residents can conveniently apply for support online until September 30, 2024, by visiting www.westdevon.gov.uk/hsf
