Shaldon Wildlife Trust aims to make the Zoo for everyone

Shaldon Wildlife Trust becomes the latest business to partner with AccessAble; a world leader in the provision of accessibility information.

Shaldon Wildlife Trust has worked with AccessAble to produce Detailed Access Guides to the zoo, set in an acre of woodland above the coast village of Shaldon in Devon. The zoo looks after and helps to preserve some of the rarest and most at risk and endangered species in the world.

The Guides are 100 per cent facts, figures, and photographs to help people plan their visit to the zoo, covering everything from parking facilities and assistive listening, to walking distances and accessible toilets. As everyone’s accessibility needs are different, the zoo believes having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guides have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

David Livermore, Director of Business Development at AccessAble, said: “We were thrilled to work in partnership with Shaldon Wildlife Trust to create a Detailed Access Guide to their zoo. The AccessAble website will enhance the visitor experience, helping more disabled people to enjoy a zoo visit confidently.”

Zak Showell, Director at Shaldon Wildlife Trust, said: “We’re delighted to partner with AccessAble as part of our accessibility and inclusivity journey here at Shaldon Wildlife Trust. We want the zoo to be accessible to as many people as possible so they can enjoy a visit to the zoo, see the endangered species in our care and learn about the amazing conservation work we do across the world.
