Farmers from across the South West are set to converge at the Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter on Tuesday, September 24, for a groundbreaking event focused on the future of dairy farming: the Robotic Forum, hosted by ForFarmers.
As robotic milking systems become increasingly prevalent in the UK, this event aims to provide farmers with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate this technological revolution.
The forum promises an impressive lineup of technical speakers, as well as ample opportunities for farmers to engage directly with manufacturers and service providers showcasing the latest developments in the sector.
This free-to-attend event is designed to cater to both those considering the transition to robotic milking and those already utilisi ng the technology who are looking to enhance their systems.
Bas van Santen, UK Robotic Product Manager at ForFarmers, said: “The Robotic Forum brings together experts from across the industry, as well as trade stands to view the very latest developments in the sector.
“We have brought together robotic specialists under one roof to provide guidance to this growing market. Whether you are considering installing robots, or you are already milking in this way and wish to drive performance, the Robotic Forum will offer information for those at every stage of conversion.”
The starts at 9am with the opportunity to explore trade stands before the official speaker sessions begin at 10am.
The sessions, running until 3pm, will cover a wide range of topics crucial to optimising robotic milking systems:
Nick Bell, Director of Herd Health Consultancy, will delve into innovative approaches to maintaining foot health in robotic systems.
Ivor Davey, Director of Cow Plan Ltd, will share insights on designing the most effective layout for robotic setups.
Liam Healy, Genetic Services Manager at Genus ABS, will discuss how the right genetics can lead to quick gains in robotic systems.
Bruce Forshaw, Product Manager at ForFarmers, will focus on interpreting cow behaviour to fine-tune robotic setups.
Bas van Santen himself will round out the sessions with strategies for driving performance and efficiencies from robotic systems.
Attendees are encouraged to book their place in advance via the ForFarmers website at www.forfarmers.co.uk/roboticforum, as spaces are expected to fill quickly.
