Bovey Castle
Bovey Castle is inviting locals and holidaymakers to explore its luxurious venue during its annual ‘Bovey Harvest Celebration & Open Day’ on Sunday, September 22 between 12 noon and 4pm.
The event offers free admission to the public.
The open day comes after the five-star hotel was awarded gold in the Large Hotel of the Year category at both the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and the Devon Tourism Awards.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the 60-bedroom manor house, Elan Spa, and the newly developed kitchen garden.
A variety of free activities will also be available, including archery, falconry displays, ferret racing, and children's crafting sessions.
Guests can also explore the venue’s wildflower meadow and driving range.
Additional activities such as laser clay shooting and Land Rover 4x4 tours will be offered for a small fee. Food and drink, including BBQ, coffee, cake, and ice cream, will be available for purchase, and dining options include the hotel's award-winning 1AA Rosette Smith’s Brasserie.
Dean Gunston is the General Manager at Bovey Castle, and is hoping to emulate last year’s open day attendance when hundreds of people turned out to explore the picturesque hotel and grounds, which includes an 18-hole Championship golf course and 22 self-catering country lodges.
Dean said: “This is a great opportunity for locals and holidaymakers to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the fascinating history and prestige of our venue – not to mention the scenic backdrop of Dartmoor itself.”
Guests will need to pre-book on 01647 445007.
