Housebuilder donates £500 to Okehampton acapella group
Redrow South West has extended its support to the local community by donating £500 to Okehampton Community Voices and Acapella Voices.
This contribution is part of the housebuilder’s Community Fund initiative, which aims to support local organisations and charities.
Launched in 2023, the Community Fund allocates a total of £10,000 annually to local causes, encouraging applications from organisations that contribute to community well-being.
The donation will assist Okehampton Community Voices and Acapella Voices in covering equipment and material costs, enabling the group to continue its performances and community outreach in Okehampton.
Okehampton Community Voices, led by Kerri Hardy, was established in 2021 initially as a Christmas project.
The choir has since evolved into a vibrant community group, offering a space for singers of all abilities to enhance their confidence and enjoy social interaction.
Ms Hardy expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that it will help the group sustain its activities, raise funds for charity through annual concerts, and bring joy to their audiences.
Sian Smith, Sales Director at Redrow South West, said: “We are delighted to have donated to Okehampton Voices as part of our Community Fund initiative.
“We are committed to fostering vibrant communities within the local area and are proud to support a group that brings joy and unity to so many people.
“The choir is a great example of how music can uplift and connect people.”
Redrow South West is currently developing Romansfield on Fort Road, offering a selection of three and four-bedroom homes starting from £295,000.
The development is located in Okehampton, with developers saying it provides easy access to green spaces, including Dartmoor National Park, and commuter links via the newly opened Dartmoor line.
