Following the resounding success of And Then There Were None earlier this year, Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) is gearing up to present another Agatha Christie masterpiece, Murder on the Orient Express.
The much-anticipated UK & Ireland tour of this classic crime drama will grace the TRP stage from 24–28 September, captivating audiences with its gripping storyline and unforgettable twist.
Having opened its tour on 6 September at the Lowry in Salford, this new adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express is helmed by acclaimed director Lucy Bailey, whose work on the West End hit Witness for the Prosecution earned widespread praise.
The stage production is brought to life by Agatha Christie Ltd, Fiery Angel, and Bailey, adapting the novel in a thrilling interpretation by playwright Ken Ludwig.
Set in the winter of 1934, the story unfolds as the luxurious Orient Express is brought to a standstill by an avalanche.
With the train stranded in a snowstorm, an American tycoon is found murdered in his compartment, stabbed eight times with the door locked from the inside.
The illustrious Belgian detective Hercule Poirot must unravel the mystery, racing against time to catch the killer before the train reaches its final destination.
Widely regarded as one of Christie's finest works, Murder on the Orient Express is celebrated for its tension-filled narrative and shocking conclusion.
This new production promises to deliver a thrilling and suspenseful journey for theatre-goers, keeping them guessing until the very last scene.
The all-star cast includes Michael Maloney in the iconic role of Hercule Poirot, alongside Bob Barrett as Monsieur Bouc.
Other standout performances come from Mila Carter as Countess Elena Andreyni, Rebecca Charles as Greta Ohlsonn, and Debbie Chazen as Princess Dragomiroff.
The ensemble also features Simon Cotton as Samuel Ratchett, Jean-Baptiste Fillon as Michel, and Christine Kavanagh as Helen Hubbard, among others.
The production promises to deliver a theatrical experience that will transport audiences to a time of glamour, mystery, and intrigue on one of the world’s most famous trains.
Tickets for Murder on the Orient Express start at £22 and are available now from https://theatreroyal.com/whats-on/orient-express/
