Hatherleigh CIC expands with new event manager

Paul Dennis

A community interest company in Hatherleigh has expanded with the appointment of a new events manager.

Joining Made-Well CIC is Paul Dennis, who’s background has seen him work on large-scale events such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Carlisle’s City Fireworks Show.

Made-Well, a social enterprise dedicated to providing purposeful and positive opportunities for people, particularly those living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges offers a wide range of events and services.

With Paul’s arrival, the organisation plans to elevate the quality of its existing events and introduce new ones such as a Food Festival and a Christmas Woodland Walk.

Paul shared his vision for the future, stating: “I really want to improve and build on the events that are already on offer, with an aim of adding more events to the calendar in future years like a Food Festival and a Christmas Woodland walk. Made-Well has some amazing facilities

and surrounding green fields that in my opinion are just stunning. The site is just perfect for events, and we are starting to plan a busy itinerary.”

In addition to events, Made-Well offers a variety of community services, including the Mobile Made-Well Gardening Service, which provides garden care and maintenance for clients within a 10-mile radius of Hatherleigh.

Their team handles everything from lawn care to planting, with over 25 years of experience. The organisation also arranges educational visits, welcoming school groups and organisations such as Brownies and Scouts to experience hands-on activities related to farming, horticulture, and animal care.

For more personal occasions, Made-Well offers therapy pony visits to schools, nursing homes, and special events, tailoring their visits to create memorable experiences.

From birthdays and weddings to themed events like Halloween and Christmas, they provide a range of activities and services to fit the needs of the community.

Made-Well’s next event is the Halloween Family Disco which will kick off a week of Halloween workshops.

They have said they want to offer the community a great event for as little cost as possible. There will be a family disco on the evening of the October 26.

All money made will be reinvested in the Made-Well CIC.
