South Devon Railway
Families looking for an unforgettable day out this autumn are in for a treat as the South Devon Railway prepares to host a special weekend of steam-powered fun on 5 and 6 October.
Offering a great value package, visitors can enjoy scenic heritage train rides along the picturesque River Dart, with the added bonus of free entry to two popular local attractions – Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm – all for one inclusive price.
At Buckfastleigh Station, families can marvel at otters from around the globe, watching them swim and play through an underwater viewing area, while also strolling through greenhouses teeming with vibrant butterflies. A short train ride down the line brings visitors to Totnes Riverside Station, where the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm awaits with hands-on animal encounters. Visitors can cuddle guinea pigs, feed friendly goats, and admire a unique collection of rare breeds, including a striking parliament of owls.
For those booking online in advance, a family ticket (two adults and two children) costs just £64, representing a substantial saving of over £62 on the standard price.
