Tavistock's Goose Fair attracts 20,000 visitors

Tavistock's traditional Goose Fair took place on Wednesday, October 9, welcoming an impressive crowd of approximately 20,000 people. 

Historically held on the second Wednesday of October, this one-day fair has been a staple of the community since the 12th century, with the exception of a two-year hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tavistock Town Council expressed their satisfaction with the event's success. 

“The event organisers are extremely pleased with how well Goose Fair 2024 went,” a spokesperson shared.

Visitor numbers matched those of last year, indicating a consistent enthusiasm for the annual celebration. 

Highlights of the fair included live music and a diverse selection of street food, particularly enjoyed by attendees in the Alexander Centre Car Park.

The Goose Fair continues to be a cherished event for locals and visitors alike, showcasing the spirit of Tavistock and its rich history.
