National Highways have reported that a collision on the M5 northbound between Junction 25 (Taunton) and Junction 24 (Bridgwater) has led to the closure of lanes 1 and 2.

There is currently around 5.5 miles of congestion, causing delays in excess of 80 minutes above usual journey times.

National Highways have said: "Emergency services are in attendance and working to clear the scene."

Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes where possible.
