Trevi announces appointment of new CEO

Amanda Greenwood, new CEO for Trevi

Trevi, a leading charity dedicated to supporting and empowering vulnerable women, has announced the appointment of Amanda Greenwood as its new Chief Executive Officer. Amanda’s leadership heralds an exciting new era for the organisation as it continues its mission to help women rebuild their lives and achieve lasting change. Founded over 30 years ago, Trevi Women is a Plymouth-based charity that provides vital support to vulnerable women and their families. The organisation is committed to helping women achieve lasting change through tailored programs that address their unique needs, offering them a path to recovery, independence, and hope.

Amanda Greenwood brings a wealth of experience in the third sector, with a career deeply rooted in advocating for social justice and empowering women and children. Her most recent role as CEO of Lancashire Women aligns perfectly with Trevi’s vision and values, as well as her ability to drive meaningful change.

Throughout her career, Amanda has held numerous leadership roles at local, regional, and national levels, earning recognition for her tireless commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and championing equality.

“I am really delighted to be joining such an amazing and dynamic organisation and to be working with everyone at Trevi, the wider community, partners, and supporters,” Amanda said of her new role.

Amanda’s appointment follows the announcement of the departure of Hannah Shead, who has served as Trevi’s CEO with distinction. Under Hannah’s transformative leadership, Trevi has flourished, significantly expanding its impact on women and their families.

Gina Connelly, Chair of the Board of Trustees, expressed deep gratitude for Hannah’s service while warmly welcoming Amanda: "On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hannah Shead for her exceptional service to Trevi. Under her leadership, Trevi has flourished, and her tireless dedication to our women and their families has positively impacted countless lives. While we are sad to see her step down, we are equally excited to welcome Amanda Greenwood. Amanda’s passion, vision, and expertise align perfectly with Trevi’s values, and we are confident she will build on Hannah’s incredible legacy."

Amanda will officially assume her new role in March 2025, following a transition period during which she will work closely with Hannah to ensure continuity.

Trevi Women has a long history of championing vulnerable women and providing essential services to help them overcome challenges, rebuild their lives, and create better futures for themselves and their families. The charity’s programmes include holistic support for women recovering from trauma, addiction, and domestic abuse, as well as initiatives to empower them through education and employment opportunities.

The Board of Trustees also acknowledged the continued dedication of the Trevi team, whose efforts remain pivotal as the organisation embarks on this new chapter under Amanda’s leadership.
